Episcopal Church to Affirm ‘gay’ Clergy

July 14, 2009

“To calm tensions, Episcopal leaders three years ago had urged restraint by dioceses considering homosexual candidates for bishop. No openly homosexual bishops have been consecrated since then.

AMANAHEIM, CA – Episcopalians are moving toward affirming an open role for homosexual clergy in their church despite pressure from fellow Anglicans not to do so.

Episcopal bishops voted at a national meeting yesterday for a statement that says “God has called and may call” homosexual men and women to ministry. Delegates to the meeting already approved a nearly identical statement. This latest version is likely to be approved by Friday.

Episcopalians caused an uproar in 2003 by consecrating the first openly homosexual bishop, Vicki Gene Robinson of New Hampshire. That decision has nearly split the world Anglican Communion, which includes Episcopalians.”

God Still Has A Remnant!

April 26, 2009

In a time of spiritual blindness, where Evangelicalism is being side tracked and de-railed by pastor’s who want to be cool, relevant and fashionable rather than students and proclaimers of the Gospel, Lillian Kwon of Christian Post writes about the “Gospel Coalition Conference” calling pastors back to a Christ centered gospel.

“…Leaders of the coalition got right down to business on Tuesday as they opened the 2009 conference with Tim Keller, senior pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City.

Expounding a passage from the New Testament book of Acts 19, Keller spotlighted the apostle Paul whom Christians recognize as one of the most effective and faithful preachers of all time.

Paul preached in such a way that changed the lives of those who converted to Christianity and ultimately affected the culture, Keller told thousands who packed the Donald E. Stephens Conference Center in Chicago as well as those watching the session online through a live webcast.

In most cases today, however, there are many people having born-again experiences and making decisions for Christ but not living any differently from anyone else in the culture, Keller pointed out.

He called it “one of the scandals of the church.”

Part of that failure to produce changed lives points back to the church or the preacher.” continue reading

Tony Miano – 10 Marks of a Flase Convert

March 6, 2009

Ten Marks of a False Convert:

1. You believe that you are inherently a good person, thus denying the doctrine of Original Sin.

2. You commit idolatry of the mind and blaspheme the very character of God by denying essential doctrines such as judgment, hell, regeneration, and justification by faith alone; and you replace the truth with lies such as sinless perfection and open theism.

3. You think that only the red-lettered words in your Bible are the words of Jesus and, therefore, the rest of the Bible can be interpreted and applied to your liking.

4. You believe that a person can be a Christian while wantonly engaging in habitual sin; such as homosexuality, fornication, adultery in mind or body, the support in any way whatsoever of the murder of the unborn, or any other sin.

5. You believe that because a person has prayed a prayer and asked Jesus into their heart, then they are saved.

6. You believe a person can be a Christian, even if they bear no fruit after making a profession of faith in Christ. You treat the grace of God as a license to sin. You like the word backslider.

7. You struggle with the thought of missing a meal; but going days, weeks, even months without reading your Bible doesnt faze you.

8. You pray when you want something from God; but beyond that you have very little time for conversation with Him.

9. You believe that Darwinian, macro-evolution is a scientific fact and compatible with belief in the God of the Bible.

10. You see evangelism as a gift other people have; and you have no real concern about the fact that 150,000 people die every day, with the vast majority of them bound for hell. You soothe your conscience by convincing yourself that friendship evangelism, as it is most commonly practiced among American Christians, is actually in the Bible. You think that if you let your little light shine, you dont have to verbally proclaim the gospel.
